Worst than ever

Christmas is one of the most awaited event to come wherein, all people celebrates. It is about love, peace, giving and sharing your blessings with one another because it’s the birthday of our beloved father Jesus Christ.

In some ways it is the chance of other people to forgive and forget those people who have sin with them for the whole year. I guess they do that in order for them to move on peacefully with the incoming year with no regrets and hard feelings for others.

During Christmas, people love to wrap especial gifts for those whom they think did something good to them in a whole year. But some of them wrapped gifts for Christmas party wherein students mostly in preparatory, primary and secondary school and even colleges, Offices, and Companies celebrated.

I remember when I was in grade 5, we have our Christmas party and we are remind to give something useful so that it can be remembered by the person who received our gift and it is surely be use by the person. I wrapped a pink blouse that time while the gift I have received I think is my worst gift I ever encounter which I don’t want to remember anymore. Why? Because it is a 5 pieces stapled paper doll that can be bought in any store. I consider it worst because I don’t play paper doll, I’m not fan of it or the type of person who is fond with paper dolls. And I don’t love that toy either. For me, it can easily destroy after 3- 4 times you played it. I was really disappointed and surprised when I opened my gift and saw what’s inside of the wrapper. I was crying and really angry on the person who wrapped that gift for me.

Although some of my classmates received picture frame and photo album still my gift is the worst one. I was really still envy for those who received beautiful, worth it and useful gift compared to what I have received. I was really mad on the person whom gave me such paper doll gift. Hahaha.. I even want to take the gift I have exchange in return that time to get my own gift, which is sad to say it’s a disaster one, because for me my gift is more useful than what I have received. I talked to my teacher (Ms. Aguilar) crying for help because I hate the paper doll gift and I’m not happy for having it, but then she advised me (my teacher) to be patient and be thankful for what I had received although it’s a paper doll in a way it’s cute and beautiful.

The worst gift I gave to a person, well I don’t think there is a specific worst gift. Although I’m not that old and mature enough to decide during my primary school year my mom make sure that she will wrapped a beautiful gift for my exchange gift with my classmates. My mom is thoughtful and she always makes sure that the person who will receive the gift will be happy and satisfied for having it.

Christmas is not about what you give and what you receive in return. We must still consider that small things matter. According to the saying.. “It’s the thought that counts”. We should still be thankful that a single person remembered us and give a try to add additional happiness to us. That is the true meaning and spirit of Christmas, giving and sharing all the blessings we have with one another.

  1. Hey Grace! Its funny that you mentioned that you’ve never given any worst gift because (as you said) “its the thought that counts.” But you seem to be still complaining for the paper dolls you received yearssss ago.
This article is actually better than your last one. I’ll give you 89 for this.
    Merry Christmas….

  2. Hehe.its sad to say that not everyone will appreciate other peoples effort no matter how big or small it may be when it comes to gift-giving. it turns out that we have this mentality that we always want the best, even i have that attitude.
anyhow, the article is better than your first one although their are some lapses in sentence construction but still the article is a solid one.

  9. Grace, be thankful. Remember that we can’t get what we want but we can enjoy things that are given to us no matter how ugly or unlikeable they are.

You’re article is much better than the last one you posted. Aside from some grammatical errors, tenses and sentence contruction problems, this article is well enough.

  10. There are serious issues with your grammar Grace look it up. Again be perceptive if the aesthetic appeal of your article. Same problem as last time this is hard to read.

I hope you receive something better but please look at the circumstance of the person who gave you the cheap doll. Maybe he/she cannot afford anything more substantially pricey.

    This rates another (80).

  11. Please mind the grammar Girl. Inappropriate tenses bother the reader. Anyhow, the paper doll was the worst you got and since you mum wraps your gifts, you assumed you haven’t given any bad gifts in return. Well, your reaction to the seemingly “cheap” gift that you didn’t need sounds like a real whiner. Well, some kids are like that. And the one who gave didn’t know that what she gave was the worst ever. That made you unhappy. Could have been better if it was a voodoo doll so you can inflict torment and mayhem upon the gift giver! [78]

  12. Same here. I’m not a fan of paper dolls, I never was. I don’t like Barbie dolls as well. I think they’re too good to be true. Anyway, just check on your grammar and sentence construction. But just like what Luisa said, this one is better than your first article. keep it up!

  14. Whenever I post something, I try to read it over and over again to see my flaws. I have to admit that I often commit grammatical errors, not to mention that my spelling is terrible, but I work hard to correct my errors. One thing more, when I read an article and the first sentence is already erroneous, I lose the urge to finish off the whole article.

    Your mark is 81!

    Merry Christmas!!!

  15. It’s natural that you felt disappointed ’cause you were just a kid back then. Kids have the highest expectations of all when it comes to the gifts they will receive. I hope you’ve got over it now that you’re an adult.

There are flaws in grammar and sentence construction. But don’t worry, I got the message. 87 for you. Merry Christmas.:)

  16. Grace, I understand and got your point. But wait, ahem! I’m fond of paper dolls. Actually, before I have lots of collections of diff. paper dolls most especially Sailor Moons (haha…) and to tell you there are so funny to dress up. Anyway, different opinions and taste. (right?)

You’ve encountered some errors but still it’s a good article.

    Merry X’mas :)

  17. Please don’t show me the paper dolls, they give me the creeps. Aside from Porcelain dolls, they’re scary. The article is good, a few sentence consturction errors here and there, but it gets the job done. (89)
